OSD Audio 5.25” In-Ceiling Speaker Pair – 100W

Our ICE520 5 1/4-inch ceiling speaker with polypropylene woofer is a real steal. The ICE520s are often used in commercial applications where good sound is needed in large areas without a huge cost; however, many of our customers are homeowners who and install the ICE520’s in hallways, dinning rooms, garages, etc. Features of the 5.25″ speakers include polypropylene woofers and PEI dome tweeter for excellent coverage.

Testing, Testing, Testing
Many customers like to test the sound quality of their new OSD Audio in-ceiling speakers before they install them. That perfectly fine but remember that these flush-mount speakers use an infinite baffle design, which uses the wall or ceiling cavity as the enclosure. Uninstalled in-wall/in-ceiling speakers will sound weak and tinny because without the proper enclosure, the speaker can’t produce the sound pressure level it needs. If you want to try them out, we recommend mounting the in-ceiling speakers into a box of about 3 cubic ft. or larger; or simply mount them in the ceiling and then listen. This will give you an accurate measure of the sound quality.

Can I Paint the Grilles to Match My Room?
You sure can! Painting the grilles/trim won’t harm your speakers but we recommend using only spray paint, not a brush. Brushing the grilles can clog the holes and interfere with sound quality. We also recommend using a fine spray paint gun. Our in-ceiling speakers also come with a paint shield to help guide you through the painting process.

POWER: The 5.25 inch polypropylene cone woofer and ½ inch pivoting dome tweeter configuration of the ICE520 makes for 100 watts of high powered handling similar to a home theater speaker.
SOUND QUALITY: The ICE520 will come through with excellent sound quality to surround large crowds and noisy surroundings. With a frequency response of 65 Hz – 20 kHz, the ICE520 allows for fine tuned sound clarity.
MOUNT: This in-ceiling speaker is able to be installed and flushed in the ceiling or wall to match your home décor. The grille can be painted with spray paint for the best look in any building or house.
CABLE: OSD recommends purchasing their CL3/FT4 fire-retardant wire that is specifically designed with special shielding for crawl spaces and wall cavities.
